Beginner's Six-Week Intro to Ceramics Class

In this beginner class, students will cover preparing and working with clay, basic wheel throwing, trimming, glazing and basic surface decoration. You'll also learn how to make and attach handles. This foundational skills class will provide time for students to explore creating functional and sculptural pieces using a pottery wheel. This class is perfect for those with little to no clay experience, or those looking for a hands-on refresher with a knowledgable instructor who can meet you where you are in your ceramics journey. Each student will leave with an understanding of the throwing, trimming and glazing processes. There will be an emphasis on the holistic ceramics process and safety throughout, ensuring that students are ready to grow their practice on their own once the class ends. Class Dates & Time: Wednesdays, July 30-September 3 6 PM - 9 PM Location: Ceramics Wheel Throwing Room @ Coco-op 1155 W. Kaibab Ln., Flagstaff, Arizona, 86001 ** The class fee is for all six classes. Cancellation Policy
Students must cancel their registration at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund. After 48 hours, we will refund up to 75% of the registration fee. Coco-op is an adult space.
