New to sewing or ready to build stronger basics? Sewing 101 is a hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop designed to help you feel confident using a sewing machine and completing simple projects. In this class, you’ll learn the main components of a sewing machine, how to properly thread and operate it, and how to use different stitches and stitch lengths for various projects. You’ll also practice essential skills like hemming, choosing the right fabric, and troubleshooting common sewing issues. You’ll put these skills into action by creating a simple tote bag to take home—giving you practical experience you can build on for future projects. You’ll Learn: Sewing machine parts and setup How to choose stitches and stitch lengths Basic hemming techniques Fabric selection for different projects Troubleshooting common sewing problems Students are encouraged to bring their home sewing machine, if available. By learning on your own sewing machine, you will be able to easily troubleshoot and transfer your skills to your home projects. No sewing machine? No worries! Coco-op has sewing machines and all the tools needed to complete this class. All materials included. No prior experience required.

Cancellation Policy: Students must cancel their registration at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund. After 48 hours, we will refund up to 75% of the registration fee.
