The Makerspace isn’t just a place to create; it’s a space for growth and connection. In Flagstaff, Coco-op provides people with access to tools and resources that support hands-on creativity. This is a fundamental part of the human experience. Below is a story that reflects this spirit—and it's one that resonates with many of our members.
"I discovered ceramics, and it changed my life."

"When I was in my 20s, I enrolled at CCC and joined the clay program. It helped me become calmer and eased my anxiety. My relationships improved, and I began to see a world full of possibilities.
"However, everything came crashing down when my financial aid was cut. I had to drop out of school, which meant leaving the clay program as well. Suddenly, everything felt jagged again. My anxiety returned, and the world around me became more challenging.
"For years, I dreamed of the serenity I felt behind the turning wheel, molding a lump of clay. But I often woke up feeling sad, knowing it wasn't a possibility—until a few months ago. When my sister mentioned Coco-op Makerspace, I felt butterflies of hope again.
"We took a tour, and it was AMAZING! Not only did it have a ceramics studio, which felt like a literal home for my heart, but there were also countless creative outlets and like-minded people. I was overwhelmed with emotion. The very next day, I signed up for a membership and immediately drove to Visible Difference for some clay.
"Now, my life feels complete again, and I can't thank Coco-op enough."
We love hearing stories about how people come to find Coco-op, and what they were able to find in themselves as a result.
